Day 2: Vientiane City Tour

Day 3: Vientiane to Luang Prabang
Fly to Luang Prabang, Laos’ most enchanting town and a World Heritage listed site. Surrounded by mountainous forests and situated at the confluence of the Nam Khan and Mekong Rivers, Luang Prabang has a tranquil, old-world charm. Explore the National Museum which was previously the former royal palace, and is now filled with fine examples of Lao art and furniture. Visit serene Wat Mai temple before enjoying some free time to explore Luang Prabang independently. In the evening, take part in a fun private cooking demonstration at Tamarind cooking school which is situated in an idyllic garden setting. Learn about traditional Lao cooking before sitting down to enjoy the feast.

Hotel: Sala Prabang (or similar)

Day 4: Pak Ou Caves
Begin the day with some steaming-hot noodle soup for breakfast at a local noodle house. Walk to the tip of the Luang Prabang peninsula and visit Wat Xieng Thong temple, one of the most beautiful in Laos. Take a boat trip to Pak Ou Caves, a sacred shrine where local people add to a repository of thousands of Buddha statues. Return to Luang Prabang and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. Choose to hire a bicycle, climb the stairs to the top of Mount Phou Si for wonderful sunset views or explore the night market.

Day 5: Kuang Si Falls
Rise early to see brightly-robed Buddhist monks collecting alms. Explore a lively morning market before traveling to Kuang Si Falls, where you can swim in the turquoise pools and visit a nearby bear sanctuary. Cook and enjoy your own lunch at an outdoor pavilion overlooking rice paddies before exploring Luang Prabang independently. In the evening, participate in a game of petanque followed by sunset drinks overlooking the Mekong River. Enjoy a farewell dinner to celebrate a memorable visit to Laos.
