Small Group Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Delhi
Immerse yourself in the vibrant energy of Delhi, and meet your fellow travelers and Tour Leader (or local guide).

Day 2: Delhi City Tour
Visit Delhi’s must-see sites at Humayun’s Tomb followed by Rajpath, home to India’s government buildings, President’s residence and India Gate. Venture to Old Delhi, jump on a bicycle rickshaw and explore the chaotic laneways of Chandni Chowk before visiting Jama Masjid. Stroll along one of the area’s most famous food streets where you can sample delicacies including freshly-baked naan and samosas. See volunteers preparing free meals for thousands of devotees at a Sikh temple.

Day 3: Delhi to Agra
Travel to Agra and explore the imposing fort as you see your first glimpses of the domes of the Taj Mahal. In the afternoon, visit a marble inlay workshop.

Day 4: Agra to Ranthambore National Park
See one of the world’s most iconic landmarks at dawn, the Taj Mahal. Drive through the countryside to Ranthambore National Park.

Day 5: Ranthambore National Park
Start the day with a game drive through Ranthambore National Park, home to a host of wildlife including tigers. Visit a women’s cooperative, and in the late afternoon, embark on a second game drive.

Day 6: Ranthambore National Park to Jaipur
Depart for Jaipur, Rajasthan’s capital which is affectionately called the ‘Pink City’. Take a walking tour of the royal observatory and enjoy free time exploring the town’s popular bazaar street. This evening, choose to join your Tour Leader (or local guide) at one of India’s finest Art Deco cinemas to watch a Bollywood movie.

Day 7: Jaipur City Tour
Visit a traditional milk market before admiring the façade of the Hawa Mahal. At a local tea shop, sample some delicious chai. Spend a few hours exploring the impressive Amber Fort. Visit a carpet-weaving and batik-printing workshop before going on a guided walking tour of Jaipur bazaar. Enjoy dinner with a local family in their historic haveli home.

Day 8: Jaipur to Samode
Drive to the picturesque village of Samode, hidden in the countryside of the Aravali Hills beyond Jaipur. After lunch, take a jeep safari through the farms and villages around Samode and walk around the Samode Palace.

Day 9: Samode to Churu
Continue the drive further northwest into Rajasthan and the celebrated region of Shekhawati. Embark on a heritage walking tour through Churu’s historic streets where you may have a chance to visit a few traditional workshops.

Day 10: Churu to Bikaner
Continue your adventure to the town of Bikaner. Explore the grounds of Gajner Palace before enjoying a sumptuous dinner accompanied by local musicians and dancers.

Day 11: Bikaner
Spend the day exploring Bikaner, first stopping at the magnificent Junagarh Fort. Visit a Jain temple before walking through the old town market area. After lunch, continue to the National Research Center on Camels, a facility specializing in the breeding and study of these iconic animals.

Day 12: Bikaner to Jaisalmer
Depart Bikaner and drive through the desert towards Jaisalmer, stopping en route at Deshnok to visit the Karni Mata temple, an unusual temple where local people revere thousands of rats. Continue your journey to Jaisalmer.

Day 13: Jaisalmer
Spend the day exploring Jaisalmer, starting with a short drive to Gadisar, Jaisalmer’s desert lake and water source. Afterwards, return to town and explore the enormous sandstone fort on foot. Drive out to remote sand dunes to enjoy a desert sunset.

Day 14: Jaisalmer to Jodhpur
Leave Jaisalmer and drive through the desert towards Jodhpur. If time permits, walk through the bustling Jodhpur bazaar.

Day 15: Meherangarh Fort
Visit imposing Meherangarh Fort, arguably one of India’s most impressive forts. Enjoy the magnificent views of the city below before walking down to the city’s colorful bazaar. Enjoy a farewell group dinner to celebrate your time in India.

Day 16: Jodhpur
Transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
